KISII, Kenya, May 25- The death of a form 3 student under mysterious conditions at St Peter’s Nyakemincha secondary school has led to the institution being closed early.

The school was closed on Tuesday.

According to police, the body of the form three student was discovered in a nearby river on Sunday afternoon.

According to the school Principal Mr. Leonard Murungi, he took the decision to end the anxiety in the school.

Already, detectives have moved in the area, in a bid to establish what caused the death of the student.

“I have sought permission from the Ministry of Education to allow me close early for half term break to allow the anxiety of parents and teachers to end before the students report back on May 30”, said Murungi.

The body of the form three boy was discovered by a passerby lying in the shallow river adjacent to the school.

The student is said to have fallen unwell on May 17 but was treated at Kinara hospital in Nyamira town and discharged. He had fever symptoms.

The students report back on Monday 30th.

The body is lying at Nyamira county hospital morgue awaiting an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
