    Madaraka Day Celebrations: This Is What We Got! KDF Showcases Military Might

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 1- The Kenya Defence Forces on Wednesday showcased its might, as the country marked the 59th Madaraka day celebrations.

    As part of the celebrations, the different units paraded some of their fighting weapons which included Armoured Personnel Carriers and 81mm mortars by the Infantry and machine guns from the Army Special Operations Brigade.

    The celebrations were led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is serving his second and final term.

    This was the Jubilee government’s final Madaraka Day celebrations while in power.

    KDF’s Armoured Brigade also displayed their reconnaissance vehicles and main battle tanks, while their counterparts in the Artillery brigade treated Kenyans to a display of their weapons, all moving in their arrowhead configuration.

    The Kenya Navy also gave a rare glimpse into their world, albeit on land, of their military boats atop flatbed trailers.

    On the other hand, the Air Force brought their Grob, Harbin Y-12, PZL M28 Skytruck, Dash 8, and Alenia C-27J Spartan aircraft, among others.
