NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun, 15 – President Uhuru Kenyatta and His Excellency President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia Wednesday at State House, Nairobi, witnessed the signing of six MOUs geared toward scaling up the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The bilateral instruments of cooperation signed after President Kenyatta and President Hichilema held a one-on-one meeting and later led their delegations in bilateral talks were, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the field of veterinary and animal health,MOU on cooperation in the field of international relations studies and research,MOU on cooperation in promotion of cooperatives and MOU between the Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) and the Tourism Council Zambia (TCZ).
Also signed by the two heads of state included an MOU between the Kenya Utalii College and the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies and anMOU on cooperation in the field of information, communication and technology.
The two leaders agreed that the signing of the instruments of cooperation sets out an extensive framework for the consolidation and deepening of relations for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.
Earlier, when he arrived at State House, Nairobi, at the start of his two-day State Visit in the country, President Hichilema was received by his host President Kenyatta in a colourful State reception that included a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Air Force and a 21-gun-salute.
