NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun, 22 – Nairobi based detectives accompanying a team of auctioneers to a house in Kilimani’s Wood Avenue area over rent arrears amounting to Sh4,962,990 recovered 22 illegal firearms and 565 rounds of ammunition instead.

The house is said to belong to Ken Lugwili of Vic.Technologies Limited.

According to preliminary reports, detectives were shocked to find an armoury in one of the rooms with the cache of weapons.

Police records revealed that among other weapons recovered included, nine escort magnum short guns, one Benelli short gun, five Guatro short guns, one savage short gun, six Walter pistols, and a total of 565 ammunition of assorted different calibers.

The cache of weapons was recovered on Tuesday evening.

Initially, his landlord, identified as Ballon Wanjala had notified and obtained a court order seeking to break into the house after his tenant failed to pay rent. They were set to serve him with a notification of sale of any worthy items recovered at the house.

Hebron auctioneers alongside police officers made the shocking discovery after gaining entry into the house.

Detectives further revealed that his firearm license had been suspended three years ago.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect said to have gone into hiding.

“The suspect has 34 hours to surrender to the nearest DCI offices,” said police.
