NAIROBI, Kenya, Jun, 26 – The ministry of health has said that the country’s COVID-19 infection rate is slowly on the rise amid sensitization exercises urging Kenyans to be vaccinated and observe health safety rules.
According to Saturday’s MoH briefing, the country’s infection rate currently stands at 13 per cent.
Total confirmed positive cases are now 331,966 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 3.7 million,
As of Saturday, June,15,2022, The total recoveries and at 322,241 of whom 269,109are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program. 53,132 are from various health facilities.
Cumulative fatalities stand at 5,651.
According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, so far, at least 18.7 million vaccines have been administered. 16.7 million of which have been administered to people aged 18 and above.
1.5 million doses have been administered to people aged 15 to 17 years old.
The government is said to be working towards vaccinating a targeted population of 27.2 million people.
