NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul, 20 – Trial Judge Grace Nzioka directed parties involved in the murder case of businesswoman Monica Kimani to file their submissions before appearing on September,30,2022 where they will highlight their submissions.
The prosecution meanwhile Wednesday closed their case after their final witness chief investigator Maxwell Otieno testified before the court.
So far 44 witnesses have been interviewed.
Joseph Irungu alias Jowie and journalist Jackie Maribe have been implicated in the murder. They have both pleaded not guilty.
They are both out on bond.
The deceased was found murdered in her Lamuria Gardens apartment in September, 19,2018.
In his submission, Otieno said that the murder weapon, a sharp knife is yet t be recovered.
During his cross-examination by lawyer kata Eigen, Otieno further said that they never tracked the movements of Maribe on the fateful day.
His testimony saw the court informed that the only connection Maribe had with the murder was that she gave out her car to the first accused, Jowie.
“She facilitated by availing her vehicle to Jowi,” said Maxwell.
They also dismissed that were was a relationship between Maribe and Monica on Facebook.
Asked if Jowie was given the car for the purpose of allegedly going to the slain’s home, the chief investigator said that the car was easily accessible to Him.
