NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul, 26 – Detectives have launched investigations into the death of a senior assistant director of public prosecutions after his body was found decomposing inside his home.
According to preliminary reports, the deceased was identified as 47-year-old Fredrick Ashimosi Shitiambasi.
He was domiciled at the Prosecution Training Institute.
Neighbours are said to have discovered his decomposing body before notifying the police. They first noticed a foul smell emanating from the home raising concerns.
Detectives at the scene were forced to break into his house before discovering his lifeless body on his bed.
The cause of his death is yet to be established, though sleuths suspect it could be a result of carbon monoxide poisoning since a charcoal burner was found by his bedside.
The deceased is further said to have been on sick leave.
Investigations are ongoing amid a postmortem examination.
