NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul, 27 – The Jubilee party has nominated president Uhuru Kenyatta’s sister Kristina Wambui Pratt as one of the women nominees to the senate.
Other nominated to the senate by the party are Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar and Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu.
Meanwhile, current Murang’a woman representative Sabina Chege has been prioritized as a nominee to the National Assembly.
Their Azimio La Umoja -One Kenya Alliance Counterpart, ODM, has meanwhile prioritised Irene Nyakerario Mayaka and Suba South MP John Mbadi as nominees to the National Assembly.
In the Senate, for the women nominees, the orange party nominated its National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Catherine Mumma alongside Beatrice Akinyi Oyomo and Hamida Ali Kibwana.
Nickson Ochieng has been nominated to the senate representing persons living with disability alongside Musician Crystal Asige.
Across the political divide, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has meanwhile prioritised Bishop Jackson Kosgei, Teresiah Wanjiru Mwangi, and Abdisirat Khalif Ali as nominees to the National Assembly.
In a list submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru and Starehe MP Charles Njagua Kanyi, alias Jaguar were also nominated.
In the Senate, UDA nominated its Secretary-General Veronica Maina, Roselinda Soipan Tuya and Miraj Abdillahi. They have been prioritized thus stand a chance of being nominated alongside others such as former Nairobi senatorial aspirant Karen Nyamu and Kajiado East Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko.
