NAIROBI, Kenya, Jul, 27 – Agano Party presidential candidate David Mwaure faulted corruption and poor decision-making in government as one of the reasons that continue to hamper growth and development in the country.

During the first tier of the presidential debate 2022, Mwaure who ended up appearing alone after his counterpart Roots party’s professor George Wajackoyah refused to share a podium with him only saying he would participate in the discourse with all other candidates has pledged Sh50 million to village council as an incentive for development.

“We have devolved money, unfortunately, we have also devolved corruption but we have never devolved decision making. We want Kenyans to decide what development projects they want to be financed at the lowest level,” he said.

Mwaure, a cleric and lawyer, said that Kenyans at the devolved unit had been neglected.

He promised, if elected, to address the country’s corruption problem while addressing the high cost of living. These will be addressed through his ’12 covenants’ in his manifesto.

During the debate cum interview, Mwaure also addressed issues on Health and education.

“We will give enough money to the health sector, at least 5 level 5 hospitals in every county,” he said.

The cleric said that he was the most qualified candidate to liberate Kenya into the future despite his detractors accusing him of not actively engaging Kenyans. He however countered the narrative by saying that he has not received adequate media coverage.

“We have a candidate who is the current DP for 10 years. The things he is saying he wants to do he could have done the last ten years. We also have a former Prime Minister who is promising things he could have done when he was in the position,” he said.

The presidential candidate will now continue spreading his gospel of change to Kenyans, hoping to clinch the country’s top seat.
