NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 7- Kenya Kwanza Presidential Candidate William Ruto has urged Kenyans to maintain peace, during and after the August 9 general elections.
He spoke during a church service at the Jesus Winners Ministry in Roysambu, Nairobi County.
His appeals come a day to the polls and a few hours after the campaign period lapsed.
Both Ruto and Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga held major rallies in Nairobi, where they made their last appeal for votes.
“Every Kenyan, be a peacemaker because it is the ticket to become a son of God,” he said.
“All of us shall cast our votes on Tuesday, peacefully. God will manifest Himself during this election so that the word of God can be respected. God is going to show himself, so that glory and honour can go to the Almighty God.”
He also ‘promised’ to invite the worshippers that he shall invite them to State House.
He also committed to protect the church and all other religious institutions if elected.
“The same way you work with us in matters of governance, we shall also work with you in matters of God,” he said.
“There is no church that shall be closed.”
