NANDI, Kenya, Aug, 12 – Stephen Sang has retained his seat as the Governor for Nandi County.
Sang who faced five other competitors’ garnered 237,045 votes to clinch victory. The results were announced by Silas Rotich, the County Elections Manager at Kapsabet boys’ high school.
Cleophas Lagat, Nandi’s first governor came second with 55, 375 votes. Others who vied were Joseph Boor (3,684), Peter Kombora (2,391), Anderson Serem (2,999), and Nicholas Tirop (4,222).
The county has 406,288 registered voters, votes cast were 305, 076 with a voter turnout at 75.1 per cent.
Sang expressed satisfaction for the victory and promised to fulfill the projects he had started.
“I have a big agenda for the people of Nandi, I will work towards delivering the transformation of our great County,” said Sang.
