NAKURU, Kenya, Aug, 12 – United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial candidate Susan Kihika has officially been declared Nakuru Governor-elect by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday.
Kihika who is the outgoing Nakuru senator sought to unseat incumbent governor Lee Kinyanjui who ran on a Jubilee party ticket.
According to the IEBC,Kihika garnered 440,707 votes against Kinyanjui’s 225,623.
She is now the county’s third governor and first female governor.
Kinuthia Mbugua was Nakuru’s pioneer governor.
