NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 18- Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai has been directed to probe the brutal killing of Daniel Musyoka, the Embakasi East returning officer.
Musyoka went missing on August 11, and his body bearing marks of torture was found dumped in Kajiado on August 15, 2022.
In a letter to the IG, Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji gave police 7 days to investigate the killing and return the file for his review.
His letter is copied to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
Chebukati recently released a statement decrying the ongoing intimidation and profiling of IEBC officials.
As a result, he postponed all pending elections including those of Mombasa and Kakamega gubernatorial seats.
