NAIROBI, Kenya. Aug, 30 – Fernandes Barasa has clinched the Kakamega Gubernatorial contest defeating Amani National Congress’ candidate Cleophas Malala.
Barasa ran on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket.
According to IEBC, Barasa garnered 192, 929 votes against Malala’s 159, 508 votes.
The contest was postponed following errors on the ballot papers before being rescheduled by the poll body IEBC.
ODM party leader Raila Odinga has congratulated Nassir and his Kakamega counterpart Barasa for their victory.
