NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug, 30 – Two suspected thugs were last night gunned down in two separate incidents in Nairobi as the war on crime rages on.
According to preliminary reports, police say one of the suspected thugs was shot dead in Lungalunga slums and a pistol was recovered from him while the second one was shot in Mowlem area and a homemade gun was recovered. Police also recovered a stolen motorcycle.
The suspects were gunned down by police who were notified by locals about robbery incidents.
Police say they have increased patrols in the city to address rising cases of robberies.
Five other suspects were meanwhile rescued by police following an attempt to lynch them by an angry mob in Shauri Moyo and Kasarani areas. The suspects are nursing injuries in hospitals.
