NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 5- President-elect William Ruto says his win “opens possibilities” for all children in Kenya, after facing a candidate who was backed by the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The President-elect spoke after the Supreme Court in a unanimous decision upheld his victory.
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga and 8 others had challenged his win.
“The return on a unanimous decision confirms the fidelity of IEBC both to the law and the constitution,” he said.
“We are all aware that there are men and women who lost lives in this election when they should not be. There were all manners of intimidation to avert the will of the people. The Judiciary has vindicated the IEBC.”
