NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept, 11 – Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua who also chairs the assumption of office committee ahead of President-elect William Ruto’s swearing-in On Tuesday said that preparations for the momentous day are but complete as organizers put the final pieces of the puzzle together.
The Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani In Nairobi county is expected to host at least 2,500 VIP guests and 60,000 Kenyans in the facility.
Among those set to attend the ceremony are at least 20 heads of state.
USA president Joe Biden has meanwhile dispatched 5 senior member son his administration to represent him at the swearing-in ceremony.
“I want to assure Kenyans everything has been done properly and whatever is remaining we believe by the end of today (Sunday) we will have accomplished so that by tomorrow, even if there are small commas we can be able to clean in the morning, and ready for the 13th, September 2022,” said Kinyua.
Also, at least 10,000 police officers have been deployed across Nairobi to ensure security and peace are upheld during the day.
Also, the officers are expected to regulate traffic within the area and across the city.
Representatives of the high-profile guests also accompanied the assumption of office committee to inspect the facility.
