Presidents Kagame, Kiir, Nyusi, Ramkalawan And AU chair Mahamat In Kenya Ahead of Ruto Inauguration.
NAIROBI,Kenya, Sept, 12 – Several Continental heads od State and leaders jetted into the country earlier this evening ahead of Presidnet-elect William Ruto’s swearing on Tuesday.
The Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani In Nairobi county is expected to host at least 2,500 VIP guests and 60,000 Kenyans in the facility.
Among those set to attend the ceremony are at least 20 heads of states.
USA president Joe Biden has meanwhile dispatched 5 senior member son his administration to represent him at the swearing-in ceremony.
Rwandan President Paul kigame arrived in the country before proceeding to meet Ruto at his Karen residence.
Ruto during the meeting thanked the president for honoring his invitation and promised to expand on the historical relations between the two nations.
Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan also arrived in the Country this evening and was received by Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and Ambassador George Orina.
South Sudan President Slava Kiir is also in the country and was received by ambassador Orinag and Matwanga.
Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi,landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and was received by ambassador George Orina and Paul Ndungu.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat and Hailemariam Desalegn, the Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia are also in the country.
Denis Sassou-Nguesso, the President of the Republic of Congo is also in Kenya and was received on arrival at JKIA by Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Amb George Orina.
“We are satisfied that we shall have a very colourful ceremony on Tuesday. We have given it all it takes to make our country proud by showing the rest of Africa that we capable of delivering very colourful events as we have always done,’ said PS Dr Karanja Kibicho.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday said that he will honor the transition of power while congratulating Ruto after meeting with him at a State House Nairobi.
“Tomorrow, I will emulate that honoured tradition and hand over the mantle to my successor, The Hon. William Ruto. I am profoundly grateful for the honour and privilege you bestowed upon me to serve as the Fourth President of the Great Republic of Kenya,” he said.
