NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 13- Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua has urged Kenyans to be patient with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Kenyans have high expectations of the administration, amidst a high cost of living.
“The truth of the matter is that we are inheriting a dilapidated country,” the DP-elect said. “We are literally facing an economic shutdown.”
Among other things, the Kenya Kwanza has promised to bring down the cost of food prices and of fertilizer, in a bid to reduce the cost of production.
He has also committed that their administration will create a favorable environment for small-scale traders.
“We are going to restore the rule of law,” he said.
He also revealed that President-elect William Ruto is set to Gazette the 6 Judges who were not sworn in by President Kenyatta.
“We want to deal with impunity on day one,” the Deputy President-elect said.
He said their victory was because of God, “since the entire government machinery had been weaponized against us.”
