MOMBASA, Kenya, Sept, 16 – The Mombasa International Airport was a buzz of activity after deputy president Rigathi Gachagua met with Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance leader Raila Odinga in a brief encounter.
Their meeting was however not purely a case of serendipity as they were both in Mombasa, Gavhagua attended the induction conference of Governors and their deputies while Odinga was attending Governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir’s swearing-in on Thursday.
“I was delighted this morning to have a tête-à-tête with our senior citizen former Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga in Mombasa,” he said.
Odinga recently flew back to the country and did not attend president William Ruto’s swearing-in on Tuesday.
The former premier disagreed with the Supreme Court of Kenya’s decision to uphold Ruto’s win.
The Constitution gives power to the people while all those others are donated powers. The Judiciary is no exception. If they become rogue, we have power as people of this country to reform them. We can lead a one million march and send them back home. They will have no choice but to do so. They should not threaten and blackmail the people of this country after the mess they have done,”
