ISIOLO, Kenya, Sept 17- Security officers have been commended by the interfaith community in Isiolo County for practicing professionalism in the recent general elections.
The Secretary General of Interfaith Bishop Stephen Kalunyu said that despite Isiolo County being ranked among the hotspot areas by National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) the County was quite peaceful.
Bishop Kalunyu said that the security officers acted with professionalism and maintained peace hence the election was properly conducted.
The interfaith boss who was speaking during a post-election breakfast meeting in Isiolo town said joint security including KDF, Multi-agencies and Prison department acted on tip-off of information where no conflict occurred.
He challenged Isiolo Governor Mr. Abdi Ibrahim Guyo to organize and bring the supporters of losers and the winning teams together for the sake of peace and development.
Bishop Kalunyu said that Governor Guyo had a responsibility to bring people together in order to jump-start development programs.
The interfaith boss said in future, open polling stations like Acacia playing ground in Wabera ward and Bulapesa water kiosk should be moved to nearest health facilities or chief’s office to avoid crime incidents.
