NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 28- In a change of tact, new envoys appointed to represent Kenya across the world will sign a 2-year contract, and a Memorandum of Understanding consisting of their expected deliverables.
This was revealed by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday, announcing a paradigm shift in the country’s foreign policy.
Gachagua said that 70 percent of the Ambassador’s work will be to look for new markets for the country’s agricultural products., as well as enlarging the existing markets.
“Those who will be unable to deliver will be called back home and continue farming with other farmers,” the Deputy President asserted.
He was speaking in Nairobi when he opened the 2022 Nairobi Trade International show.
He said the government will focus on agriculture to ensure Kenyans are food secure.
