NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct, 4 – President William Ruto has recruited Kenya Army’s Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga as his new Aide-De-Camp (ADC) replacing Brigadier Timothy Lekolool.
Lekolool who also served as former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s ADC has been redeployed and assigned fresh duties at the Department of Defence headquarters.
In the new dispensation, Lengusuranga will now be deputized by Lt. Col. Damaris Agnetta who also replaces Col. Racheal Nduta Kamui.
Agnetta is also from the Kenya Army.
Ruto was seen with the new ADC while attending Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s brother,Jack Gachagua’s burial in Mathira, Nyeri county.
An Aide-De-Camp (ADC) is a ceremonial position with officers drawn from the military.
As commander in chief of the Armed Forces, the president’s ADC is the link between the military and the office of the president.
He accompanies the president everywhere he goes as well as traveling with him in the same vehicle.
During public events, an ADC is always seen standing behind the president. He however is not his bodyguard but in turn, acts as his personal assistant.
Biography Of The New ADC
According to the Kenya Defence Forces, as a decorated military officer serving as a senior Special Forces branch commander, Col. Lengusuranga was commissioned in 1999 while his deputy, Agnetta was commissioned in 2003.
Agnetta has served in different positions including at the UN Observer Mission and as an Artillery officer.
President Ruto is expected to make other changes in his security detail as fellas that of the First Lady in the coming days.
