NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct, 7- The National Police Service Commission has approved the transfer of services for the former Director, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, George Kinoti, from the National Police Service Commission to the Public Service Commission.
NPSC in a statement said that the former top sleuth will be transferred with remuneration and privileges personal to himself, with effect from September 27 2022 until attainment of mandatory retirement age.
The statement has confused observers who posed whether Kinoti truly resigned or not despite the announcement being made by president William Ruto.
“I have also received the resignation of the director general of CID Mr Kinoti and I have transmitted the same to the National Police Service to proceed with advertising that position and meanwhile they should get somebody to act in the place of Mr Kinoti,” said President William Ruto.
Kinoti left the investigating agency on September 30, 2022, after serving for four years of his six-year term. He even handed over office to the new acting Director General Dr Hamisi Masa.
