NYAMIRA, Kenya, Oct 18- A 54-year-old man was on Monday evening killed in cold blood in Nyamira, police in the area have reported.
The man had some of his body parts chopped off, just right outside his Borabu Sub-County home.
“It happened at the gate,” a police officer privy to the details of the murder told Shahidi News.
The man was identified as Momanyi Obonyo.
While the incident was happening, the area was experiencing a heavy downpour.
Police are yet to arrest any suspect.
Detectives based at Manga police station are probing the incident, and its probable motive.
Area OCS Japheth Chacha said the assailants took off after accomplishing their mission.
“It was a horrible scene. We are following crucial leads to enable us arrest the suspects. He was attacked unaware. Nothing was stolen from the deceased,” he said.
The body was taken to Gucha hospital morgue in Keroka town.
The incident happened hours after two bodies were recovered in Bonchari Sub County in Kisii on Monday morning.
The two were tied into a blue gum tree before they were killed.
The two bodies of youthful men were discovered Monday morning were right at the entrance of Nyamokenye primary school.
It is alleged that the two were caught breaking into some house in the nearby Gesonso market on Sunday night before they were lynched.
Nyumba Kumi officials in the area alleged that the two have been behind a series of burglaries in the area.
