NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 24- The Law Society of Kenya has joined the growing calls for a commission of inquiry on extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.
Human Rights organizations have made similar calls, saying that is the only way the extent of the menace will be revealed, and hopefully eliminated.
The LSK calls were made at State House to President William Ruto, during a meeting with Council’s members.
The meeting was also attended by the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji.
President Ruto has since directed the disbanding of the DCI Special Service Unit, for allegedly being involved in multiple killings in the country.
The unit members were sent on compulsory leave, while more than 20 have been questioned over the killings.
