    Police Recover  Firearm And Stolen Livestock in Turkana

    TURKANA,Kenya, Oct, 31 – Security agencies in Turkana county on Saturday recovered a firearm and livestock reported stolen within the county.

    The security patrol comprised of security officers drawn from the dreaded General Service Unit (GSU), Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) and the Radid Deployment Unit (RDU).

    A report at Kainuk Police Station showed the firearm was found within a homestead of a lead bandit in the area.

    “Officers while on patrol raided the home of Gedion Angala Emojong, a suspected mastermind of the spate of banditry activities in Turkana South where they recovered a firearm and livestock “, read a section of the report. 

    Emojong who is in police custody is reported to have moved from his native home in Turkana and settled in Takaiywa Sub Location in West Pokot County.

    He has been running his banditry operation from the area and raiding settlements in Turkana county. 

    The recovered firearm serial number 9250 according to police was loaded with two rounds of ammunition.

    The AK47 rifle is with the detectives based at Lokichar for ballistic analysis. 

    The 22 goats found in the suspect’s home are at Kainuk police station awaiting identification by residents who lost their livestock to banditry.
