NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 8 – The Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka has thanked the Employment and Labour relations court decision ordering that all striking pilots under the Kenya Airline Pilot Association (KALPA) to resume duty at 6am on Wednesday, November 9.
Kilavuka in a statement said that Kenya Airways (KQ) was grateful for the decision adding that the airline will now focus on resuming operations.
He said that KQ will comply with the court order. He apologized to travellers who had been affected by the strike adding that the airline is working hard to resume normal operations.
“We would also like to thank all our staff who have worked long hours and tirelessly to assist customers over the last four days,” he said.
Kilavuka hinted at firings at KQ saying that the airline will double its efforts to restructure, increase staff productivity and lower costs.
