NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 10 – President William Ruto has nominated Mary Muthoni as the Principal Secretary (PS) for the State Department of Correctional Services.
Muthoni comes in as a replacement for Caroline Nyawira Murage who withdrew her candidature for the position.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula announced the changes to the PS list after receiving a letter from the president on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
“The President has nominated Miss Mary Muthoni Muriuki for appointment as PS for the State Department of Correctional Services. He indicates that Caroline Nyawira Murage withdrew her candidature for this position,” Wetangula said.
According to Wetangula, Ruto asked the National Assembly to treat her approval as a matter of urgency.
Wetangula directed the clerk to notify the general public by placing her name in newspapers prior to her vetting.
