KITENGELA, Kajiado, Nov 10 – A 26-year-old university student was on Wednesday night stabbed to death at a bar in Noonkopir area Kitengela, following a fight over an Ethiopian woman.

The attacker who immediately escaped from the scene is yet to be arrested.

Eyewitnesses said the furious man entered the club and confronted Jibrir Abdulahi and asked him why he was having an affair with his female lover.

A confrontation ensued and the suspect removed a sword which he used to stab the student before escaping. The victim was rushed to Kitengela Sub-County hospital but succumbed to the stab wounds upon arrival.

According to the medical doctor, the deceased had bled profusely and had a single stab wound on the back right-hand side.

Isinya Sub-County Police Commander (SCPC) Ancient Kaloki said the woman, only known as Faridah, also disappeared after the attack.

“Unfortunately, the victim lost his life in the suspected love triangle attack. He died shortly upon arrival to hospital and has since been identified by family members,” the police commander said.

Detectives visited the blood-stained scene and conducted preliminary investigations and forensic analysis. The blood-stained sword believed to be the murder weapon and another knife were recovered at the scene.

Family and friends who gathered at the morgue expressed shock as how the student was in Kitengela Kajiado East when he ought to have been in campus based in Kajiado North while parents reside in Machakos County.

The deceased was on Wednesday evening laid to rest at the Kitengela Muslim cemetery.
