MIGORI, Kenya, Nov 14 – A 32-year-old man who was arrested in neighbouring Tanzania after he sought refuge in the country following the killing of a 24-year-old man has been arraigned in court.
David Chacha was arrested on Sunday in Motemorabu, Tanzania and brought back to Kenya where he was arraigned facing murder charges.
Police say that Chacha was involved in a quarrel with his wife, Mary Chacha, and he followed her to her parent’s home in Gibarori, Kuria East to allegedly beat her up.
The deceased identified as Ronald Chacha responded to a call for help by Mary Chacha’s mother when he was hit.
“The mother-in-law raised an alarm and a neighbour identified as Ronald Chacha aged 24 rushed to help. He was instead hit on the head with a metal rod,” police said.
He was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital but was referred to Kehancha Sub-County before being later transferred to Migori Level 4 Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
