NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 30 – A section of residents of Eastleigh in Nairobi today took to the streets at the Milimani Law Courts protesting the prosecution of Police Officer Ahmed Rashid.
The residents were joined by university students and businesspeople in opposing the murder charges set to be preferred against Rashid.
Rashid is accused of murdering two young men Jamal Mohamed and Mohamed Dahir Kheri, suspected of engaging in crime in Eastleigh, on March 31, 2017.
The shooting was captured on camera, and the clips went viral on social media.
Lawyers Dunstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta have filed a petition challenging Ahmed taking a plea before the court.
