NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 30 – The government is revitalizing the Police Equipment Modernization Program to increase air and land assets and Personal Protective Equipment for officers confronting banditry, terrorism and organized crime.
This will include pumping more resources to revitalize the police airwing.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki made the remarks Wednesday when he visited specialized police formations including the General Service Unit (GSU), the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU), Critical Infrastructure Policing Unit (CIPU) and Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) stationed in Kakuma and other parts of Turkana County.
This was aimed at appreciating and encouraging the officers.
