MOLO, Kenya, Dec 6 – A manhunt for a man suspected of killing his girlfriend in cold blood before taking flight has been launched in Molo, Nakuru County.
Moses Njeri is believed to have stabbed his 28-year-old girlfriend Hannah Ndirangu on the chest before escaping, following a heated argument over an unspecified issue.
The woman’s neighbours from the sleepy Tayari farm were the first to stumble on the deceased’s lifeless body, after gaining access to her wooden house through an opening in one of the walls.
The suspect is believed to have escaped through the opening of the house located behind a quiet, decades-old hotel that made its name for offering mouthwatering roasted ribs of the Molo Lamb, at the height of the pyrethrum boom in the 80’s and early 90’s.
A sombre mood engulfed the neighborhood following the discovery, as shocked neighbours tried to come to terms with the sudden death of the woman whose lifeless body lay sprawled on a wooden sofa in the house.
Detectives based at DCI Molo who rushed to the scene after being notified of the incident recovered a bloodstained vegetable knife, suspected to be the murder weapon.
Crime Scene experts processed the scene before transferring the deceased’s body to Molo Sub-County hospital, and a manhunt for the murder suspect was immediately launched.
