    Police Association Donates Foodstuffs, Wheelchairs To City Children’s Home

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 16 – The International Police Association (IPA) in partnership with the National Police Service Friday, December 16 visited a children’s home in Ruai and donated assorted foodstuffs and wheelchairs.

    The Compassionate Hands for the Disabled Foundation in Ruai, Nairobi houses 104 children all of whom are differently disabled.

    The Foundation’s Executive Director Anne Njeri applauded and appreciated the gesture by the team.

    “We are touched by your actions and we appreciate,” she said.

    The delegation which was led by the IPA Kenya Section National Secretary General, Senior Superintendent of Police Jared Ojuok handed over five wheelchairs, 50 kilograms of green grams, 50 kilograms of yellow beans and 50 kilograms of rice.

    They also donated 50 kilograms of millet flour, five bales of maize flour, five bales of wheat flour, 40 litres of cooking oil and assorted toiletries.

    Ojuok promised to mobilize more help for the home and others.

    Compassionate Hands for the Disabled Foundation (CHDF) is a non-governmental organization that was started in 2008 as an outreach Centre in Korogocho slum, in Kenya for children with disabilities.

    These were orphans and other vulnerable children from extremely poor families abandoned or orphaned through HIV/AIDS.

    The non-governmental organization is now serving children with special needs that range from mental to physical disabilities cerebral palsy and autism.

    It operates in Ruai, Nairobi, Kenya, near St. Joseph Catholic Church.
