KIAMBU, Thika, Feb 27 – Detectives in Kiambu County are investigating an incident where the body of a woman was found stashed in a gunny bag outside the Thika Technical Training Institute on Sunday morning.
Confirming the incident Thika West Sub County Deputy County Commissioner, Mbogo Mathioya said that police are treating the incident as a murder and that they had visited the crime scene and were at an advanced stage with the investigations.
According to Mathioya preliminary investigations show that the woman could be in her 30s and that they are seeking to establish her identity as well as her next of kin.
He said that they had moved the body to the General Kago mortuary where the post-mortem will be conducted.
According to students at the institution and residents, the body was dumped in the area in the early hours of Sunday.
There are speculations that the body was dumped by a motorcycle while others say that it was dumped by a Toyota probox but Mathioya says they are pursuing all leads.
He urged people who have had their kin missing to visit the General Kago facility to see if the body belongs to their missing kin.
