    Former Communication Authority DG Francis Wangusi Is Dead

    NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 1 – Former Director General of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) Francis Wangusi is dead.

    Wangusi died at the Nairobi Hospital Intensive Care Unit where he was undergoing treatment and according to the family he had been ailing for some time.

    “With a heavy heart, I am devastated to have to announce the death of my brother Francis Wangusi, the immediate former substantive Director General of @CA_Kenya. Mr Wangusi has been ailing. He had been admitted to the ICU at the Nairobi Hospital. God gives and takes. RIP,” said Mr Stephen Mutoro, the Consumers Federation of Kenya Secretary General.

    Prior to joining the CA, Wangusi had served in various capacities at the then Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK).

    In 2012, he was appointed Director-General of the CA for a three-year period and re-appointed in 2015 for a four-year term.

    In 2018, the board of the CA sent him on compulsory leave to investigate allegations of malpractice in staff training and promotions.
