NYAMIRA, Kenya, Feb 4 – Nyamira County Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officers are investigating an incident where a senior DCI officer was found dead at the base of a cliff.
The body of Isaac Thiaka who was a Sub County Criminal Investigations Officer (SCCIO) was found 50 meters from the base of the Manga cliff which is 100ft deep.
According to a police report, Thiaka was in the company of another police officer, who went to lower the National and Police flags, but after walking for a few meters he noticed that Thiaka was missing.
The report says that he heard screams from a woman collecting firewood from the ara.
When officers rushed to the scene they found the body of Thiaka on the cliff which is located 200 meters from his workstation.
The body had a deep cut on the right side of the head.
His body has been moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
