NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 7 – Former Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Fred Matiang’i spent the better part of Tuesday at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu road, where he was being questioned by detectives.
Matiang’i is being investigated on two counts – conspiracy to commit a felony and publication of false information, following an alleged raid on his Karen house on February 8, 2023.
The former CS honoured the summons today (March 7) after they were served to his lawyer Danstun Omari yesterday at the Miliamani Law Courts.
Earlier summons by the DCI was dismissed by his legal team who argued that they had not been signed, making them invalid.
He was accompanied by Omari, Okong’o Omogeni, Otiende Amollo and Stephen Mogaka among other lawyers.
Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya leader Raila Odinga and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna had arrived at the DCI headquarters but were denied entry into the offices, forcing them to drive away.
