NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 7 – The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed rally driver Maxine Wahome to be charged with the murder of her boyfriend Asad Khan.
The 27-year-old had appeared before Milimani Magistrate Bernard Ochoi before the DPP dropped the bombshell that they would charge her with Khan’s murder.
She was then taken before High Court Judge Lilian Mutende who directed investigators to detain her at the Kilimani Police Station and that she undergoes a mental health examination before taking plea on March 15.
Ms Wahome was arrested in December 2022 after a domestic row with Khan at their Parklands apartment left him at the ICU for a few days before he died.
At the time she argued through her lawyers that she was a victim of an attack by Khan and should not face any charges over the incident.
