Armed Robber Shot Dead in Nairobi

NAIROBI, KENYA May 9 -A suspected armed robber was Monday afternoon in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) shot and killed after a robbery.
The unidentified robber together with his accomplice had robbed their victim his bag which contained a trouser and also snatched his mobile as he walked from Uhuru Park towards the city center.
The victim alerted officers based at Parliament Police Station who were on foot patrol about his ordeal.
The two suspects ran towards the junction of Haile Selassie Avenue and Ngong Road after noticing they were being followed by the officers.
Upon being ordered to stop, police say one of them instead withdrew a pistol and pointed it at them.
In return, the officers managed to shoot and fatally injure one of them as his accomplice managed to escape.
Police recovered a homemade pistol with a waist belt.
The body of the deceased was moved to Nairobi County Morgue awaiting an autopsy and identification.
