NAIROBI Kenya May 15 -Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the disappearance of a 14-year-old girl on May 9 at the Nairobi Railways terminus.
According to the minor’s father, the daughter was traveling from Mombasa to Nairobi aboard the day’s 3pm train when she disappeared upon arrival in Nairobi later that night.
The family tried reaching her in vain as her calls went unanswered.
It was later established that the minor was picked at around 9.30pm by a suspect who has been identified as Parkins Odero who took her to Riruta Satellite in Dagoretti where she was defiled.
The following day, she was handed over to the second suspect, Alfred Matumona, who is also believed to have defiled the victim.
Detectives have also arrested a woman, Jackline Mangea, who is believed to have assisted in harbouring the minor. The three were on May 15 charged in court.
In another case on May 3, a 27-year-old man was also charged in court for failing to report to the police after his housemate took a girl, aged 17, to a house they shared in Sabasaba area within Embakasi East in Nairobi.
Elly Ochieng Oyoo was arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts where he was charged with aiding his housemate to escape punishment.
Oyoo was accused of assisting by harbouring Alloys Ouma having knowledge that he was guilty of an offence of defilement of a child in order for him to escape punishment.
The suspect met the minor at a bus stop and lured her to the house where he lived with Oyoo.
The family of the minor learnt that she was living with Ouma and some relatives proceeded to the house to look for her but Ouma escaped with her.
The minor who is a student at a school in Machakos County was later traced and found. She confessed that she had been living with the suspect who is still at large.
She told her family that she had left her school bag, clothes and books at the house where My Oyoo and Ouma lived.
