NAIROBI Kenya May 22 –
Two Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers were on Friday May 19 charged with robbing a former government employee of Sh50,000 in Kisumu.
Corporal Marshal Adawo of DCI Matungu and Constable James Olando of DCI Kwale were charged with abducting Jared Ominde Omondi on July 11, 2020 within Kisumu town before they forced him to give them Sh50,000.
The two were also charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and abduction with intent to confine.
The two, then attached to Kasarani DCI and without the consent and knowledge of their seniors, travelled all the way to Kisumu where they tracked and abducted the government official.
They were both released on a cash bail of Sh200,000 and the case will be mentioned on June 2.
