KISMAAYO, Somalia July 1 -The President of Jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam on Saturday July 1 held a meeting in Kismayo with Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla.
The meeting primarily focused on security matters, particularly the second phase of an operation aimed at liberating the country from the terrorist groups.
Notably, the discussion emphasized on the ongoing operation in the Jubaland state which involves the participation of neighboring government forces.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed the security situation in depth and strategized on the next steps to combat terrorism effectively.
The presence of Gen. Ogolla highlighted Kenya’s commitment to supporting Jubaland State in their efforts to secure the region and eliminate terrorist threats.
The second phase of an offensive operation by the Somali Secuirity Forces is scheduled to start soon and aims to intensify efforts in eradicating terrorist groups and restoring stability in Jubaland State and the rest of Somalia.
