The incident happened on Tuesday July 4 at about 4 am, police said.
This is after they allegedly broke the lock to their holding cell.
They then managed to flee from the precinct under unclear circumstances
Sentry officers and police manning the OB desk reportedly did not notice that the nine were missing until hours after their escape despite the fact that the holding cells are adjacent.
Isiolo Sub-County Police Commander William Kiambi said police have since launched a manhunt in a bid to re-arrest the suspects.
He added that police are currently investigating how the criminals broke the lock to their holding cells and escaped unnoticed despite the presence of sentry and OB desk officers.
The suspects include eight male juveniles aged between 15 to 17 and one male adult aged 24, police said adding they had been charged with various offences.
The officers on duty were questioned over the incident as part of the probe into the same.
