    Police officer arrested after participating in Azimio protests

    A police officer has been arrested in Makueni county following reports that he participated in the anti-governments protests staged on Wednesday.

    The officer identified as Evans Otieno based at Emali Police Station is accused of being part of the rioters that hurled stones at the same station.

    According to a report from Emali Police Station, Otieno was nabbed along Mombasa Nairobi highway while talking to a group of youths.

    “The said officer was seen by his colleagues yesterday(Wednesday) being among the rioters who were pelting stones to Emali police station and police officers,” read the report.

    The arresting officers reported that they found atleast forty rolls of bhangs on him.

    Meanwhile, security agencies in Garissa County are investigating a robbery incident at a construction site owned by Chinese.

    It was reported that on Tuesday, armed men suspected to be members of the Alshabaab group raided Dogob road construction site and stole fuel and two hydraulic motor vehicle jerks.

    The matter was reported at Balambala Police Station by one Ahmed Hishi, an employee of a Chinese Construction Company.

    He told the police that he was within Dogob Site K-368 along LAPSSET corridor when five unknown man gang armed with firearms drove into the site.

    They ordered all the watchmen to lie down, moved around the site and then left aboard their black vehicle.
