NAIROBI Kenya August 1 -At least two Cabinet Secretaries were on Tuesday August 1 prevented from accessing State House in Nairobi after arriving to an official event late.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his trade counterpart Moses Kuria were among the CSs to sign performance contracts at State House at the event presided over by President William Ruto.
The event was to start at about 8 am but the two alongside other Principal Secretaries, MPS and the Parliamentary departmental committee chairpersons.
Sources said they were stopped at the gate by security who informed them the event had started and the president was already seated.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi was the first to sign the contract followed by Attorney General Justin Muturi and Defence CS Aden Duale.
According to the programme, CS Kindiki was to sign after AG Muturi but he could not since he had been locked out.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua rebuked the absent officials asking them to keep time.
“Let us follow the leader by keeping time,” he said.
