In a heartbreaking incident in Sarambei village, Kuresoi North, a 30-year-old woman was found dead on Monday morning, lying next to her peacefully sleeping children.

According to residents, the mother of three had been residing with her children and had a lover who frequently visited.

Suspicion surrounds the lover, who remains at large, as residents believe he may be connected to the murder. They note that arguments between the woman and her partner were not uncommon, and the man had entered the picture after the deceased left her previous marriage, moving to the village with her three children.

A neighbour, who went to retrieve an item from the woman’s house made the grim discovery, finding the lifeless body covered in blood, with the two children nearby.

Joseph Ng’eno, the assistant chief of the Sarambei sub-location, confirmed the incident and reported that investigations are currently ongoing.

Police from the Mausummit Police Station, upon their arrival at the scene, recovered a machete believed to be the murder weapon.

The victim’s body has been transported to the Molo Hospital mortuary, where it awaits further examination through an autopsy.
