NAROK Kenya, January 29 -As the forces of Artificial Intelligence (AI) become stronger through several stages of advancement into a new horizon of cognitive possibilities in the technology world, at least 45 million small scale gold miners are set to benefit from AI globally in making their work easy.

AI technology marvel promises to refine efforts for these artisans including data-driven exploration to enhanced capability to predict and locate gold deposits using geological and sensor data analysis.

Algorithms in this tool will offer real-time insights to the diggers to better understand market trends and make informed decisions when selling their gold.

The Artificial Intelligent tool named Dr. Mining Manhattan AI has created excitement among the small-scale gold miners in Lolgorian, Narok county to help solve a myriad of challenges gold miners have been facing for a long time.

The project initiated by Matt Hales, a US professional developer of the Global Community Miners Forum(GCMF), and the Artisan and Small Scale Gold Mining sector(ASGM) in Kenya has been instrumental in implementing numerous successful projects within the Artisan and ASGM in Kenya.

According to Hales, the new concept is a conversation robot which is bound to bring expert guidance to the fingertips of miners through question and answer models in social media networks including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook messages, among others.

“Manhattan is very intelligent, able to speak over 105 languages and responds to voice conversation when giving solutions,” said Matt.

Further, Matt says the AI project took five months to create is not just a tool but a catalyst for change where every miner will join in and gather information on better and safer mining processes.

He noted that frequent communication with the tool will help shape its future by enabling the AI to grow smarter and more attuned with miners’ needs with each query answered and each piece of advice given from the area that is not fully exploited.

This, he says, will be rendering the tool, a mentorship type of technology.

Hales says that running the program is quite expensive and to sustain it they were looking for sponsorship from well-wishers.

Thousands of artisans within Lolgorian shopping will be using free Wi-Fi installed within the center and wireless cables to facilitate them access any information on the AI tool using their smartphones and computers.

“Some of the benefits include to improved safety measures by predicting hazardous conditions and proposing preventive measures,” says Matt.
