In an exclusive interview, Mrs. Husseina Islam Simba, Director of Al Ihsan Charity Organization, shared profound insights into the organization’s transformative initiatives, focusing on street children, single mothers, and widows.
“Our Charity Organization emphasizes street children, single mothers, and widows due to the pressing need for empowerment in vulnerable communities,” she told Garissa Today in an interview.

She added, “We believe in fostering sustainable change, providing these individuals with essential resources, education, and emotional support to build resilient, brighter futures.”

The director shared, “Formerly marginalized street children now thrive academically, single mothers secure stable employment through vocational training, and widows find solace in support networks. These stories illustrate the tangible results of compassion and sustainable initiatives.”
Addressing the distinct challenges faced by street children, single mothers, and widows, Al Ihsan employs a tailored approach. “For street children, we focus on education, offering academic support and mentorship,” Mrs. Husseina explained.

“For single mothers, vocational training programs will be expanded, enhancing employability and financial independence. Widows will benefit from increased emotional support services and community-building programs.”
Al Ihsan strategically utilizes social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to raise awareness.
“By creating a dynamic online presence, we effectively raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and garner vital support for our initiatives,” Mrs. Simba explained.
Measuring success involves assessing long-term outcomes such as educational attainment, employment stability, emotional well-being, and community integration for street children, single mothers, and widows. “Regular monitoring, feedback loops, and impact assessments ensure sustained positive change,” Mrs. Simba affirmed.
Looking ahead, Al Ihsan envisions future expansions to deepen support for vulnerable groups. Their plans include establishing additional educational centers, expanding vocational training programs, and creating more community hubs,” Mrs. Hussein said.
